Class Four: Balancing the Mental Dimension

The ego-driven mind and the mental dimension are often the most challenging dimension, eluding balance for most of us. Fragmented thinking and difficulty with decision-making are epidemic in a culture where the prospect of a still mind seems restricted to the blessed few (certainly not those of us with regular jobs and problems!). Jim is a master of many technologies and will escort you through a process of illusion identification, using techniques that actualize balance in your mental dimension. This can positively impact the quality of your meditations, your communication skills, and your sleep.

Application – Class Practice

The wakefulness focus began with breath awareness, slowing down and watching the flow of the breath. Our experience was directed to the observation of increased wakefulness. The exercise expanded to watching the balance point between the in-breath and the out-breath — with the breaths as the positive and negative polarities and the spaces as the witnessing consciousness (that watches and includes both polarities as the same consciousness). This is the Balance Position. What is the experience of the Balance Position in duration? Blissful consciousness. Throughout the presentation, we were returned again and again to the Balance Position and awareness of the breath.
