Master Charles begins the course by introducing the Balance Position as focusing technique that delivers the experience of true reality. It can be actualized with practice. The Balance Position refers to the technique of holding your interior focus simultaneous to your exterior focus.
The Balance Position occurs naturally with progression in the meditative experience. However, even new meditators can actualize and experience it with guidance and practice…and especially with the holistic empowerment of the authentic master teaching the course. In creating the Balance Position you are holding the two polarities of the relative field—the interior and exterior, the subjective and objective, —together at the same time. You are not entirely focused on the exterior objective world. Rather, you are simultaneously aware of the interior subjective stillness or emptiness.
The key word is awareness, because it is pure awareness itself that is watching. To fully understand the practice, you are encouraged to view the video of this class again with a particular focus on Master Charles teaching the technique. Just follow his instructions carefully and you will find it happening spontaneously. When you experience the simultaneity of the two polarities, observe your holistic experience.
